Plot Overview
John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is a retired assassin grieving the loss of his wife, Helen, who succumbed to a terminal illness. Before passing away, Helen arranged for a beagle puppy named Daisy to be delivered to John to help him cope with his grief.
John’s peaceful mourning is shattered when Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen), the arrogant son of Russian mob boss Viggo Tarasov (Michael Nyqvist), encounters John at a gas station and demands to buy his restored 1969 Mustang Mach 1. When John refuses, Iosef and his henchmen break into John’s home that night, beat him unconscious, steal his car, and kill Daisy.
Unbeknownst to Iosef, John Wick is the underworld’s most legendary hitman—known as Baba Yaga (“The Boogeyman”). Driven by intense grief and rage, John unearths his buried weapons and coin stash, re-entering the underground crime syndicate to track down Iosef. As Viggo puts a $2 million bounty on John’s head to protect his son, John wages a relentless, bloody war across New York City.
