Plot Overview
Before the destruction of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and his wife send their newborn son, Kal-El, to Earth with the Codex—the genetic blueprint for future Kryptonian generations. Raised in Smallville, Kansas, as Clark Kent by adoptive parents Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane), Clark struggles to conceal extraordinary superhuman powers while searching for his purpose.
As an adult, Clark wanders the world performing anonymous rescues until he discovers a hidden Kryptonian scout ship, learning his true heritage through a digital hologram of Jor-El and earning his iconic suit.
However, Clark’s secret life is shattered when the ruthless military leader General Zod (Michael Shannon) and his loyal officer Faora-Ul (Antje Traue) arrive in Earth’s orbit. Zod demands humanity surrender Kal-El or face total extinction, intending to terraform Earth into a new Krypton. Alongside investigative reporter Lois Lane (Amy Adams) and the U.S. military, Clark must embrace his role as Earth’s protector, culminating in a destructive battle for humanity’s survival.
