Plot Overview

Julie Rivers (Melissa Barrera) and her husband Daniel (Guy Burnet) purchase a historic, fixer-upper home to start fresh as they prepare to welcome their first child. Suffering from past grief over losing a child, Julie encounters severe complications late in her high-risk pregnancy, and her doctor forces her onto total, mandatory bed rest.

Trapped in her room with nothing but her thoughts, Julie begins to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences in the house. As the hauntings escalate, her husband and doctors dismiss her claims as pregnancy-induced psychosis or grief-fueled hallucinations. Bound to her bed and unable to flee, Julie must fight to protect herself and her unborn baby, questioning her own sanity as she unravels the dark secrets hidden within the house.

Key Themes & Production Highlights

  • Claustrophobic Horror Concept: Leverages the unique physical constraint of mandatory bed rest to create a helpless, high-tension atmosphere where the protagonist cannot escape danger.

  • Grief & Maternal Instinct: Deeply explores themes of pregnancy loss, grief, gaslighting, and the fiercely protective bond of a mother.

  • Melissa Barrera’s Horror Dominance: Further cemented Melissa Barrera (Scream V, Scream VI, Abigail) as a major modern scream queen, serving as both lead actress and producer.
