A North Texas community joined local law enforcement agencies and emergency first responders to lay to rest 4-year-old Emmanuel, a young boy known for his love of police officers and infectious smile, who died following a devastating pedestrian accident.
The tragedy occurred near the family’s residence in Ennis, Texas, when Emmanuel and his mother, Leticia, were struck by a vehicle while walking together. Leticia sustained severe multi-system trauma in the collision and required extended hospitalization and intensive medical care.
Despite her extensive physical injuries, Leticia attended her son’s service in a wheelchair—marking only the second time she had seen Emmanuel since the accident.
